Pacemakers are used for patients whose heart is not capable of beating regularly on its own. Pacemakers are placed in the chest just under the skin and send electrical impulses to the heart in order to maintain a healthy rhythm.

If it’s determined that a pacemaker is needed, one of our physicians will work with you to determine which pacemaker is needed based on your condition. The physician will also program a minimum heart rate for your pacemaker. If your heart drops below the programed rate, the pacemaker will send an electrical impulse to the heart creating a heartbeat.
