Cardiovascular Disease

Cardiovascular disease, also known as heart and blood vessel disease, encompasses a number of issues that patients may be experiencing including:

Atherosclerosis – a condition developed when plaque builds up in the arteries limiting blood supply to the heart.

Heart Failure – a condition that occurs when the heart isn’t pumping enough blood to meet the body’s demand for oxygen and blood.

Arrhythmia – a condition that occurs when the heart rhythm is abnormal. The heart can beat too fast, too slow or just irregularly.

Heart Valve Problems – This includes a number of issues where the values are not functioning properly including stenosis, regurgitation and prolapse.

There are a number of treatment options for cardiovascular disease including medications, heart valve surgery, pacemakers, coronary angioplasty, coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and carotid endarterectomy.
